| The fusion series came out
of the curiosity of glass and warm glass work. It is the fusion of my
glass and woodwork. While I work in many pure exotic woods, the wood
can become a canvas of sorts bleaching, dying and airbrushing all lend
themselves very well to this style. And, there is the glass. A vivid
pallet of colors and fun! After the wood is turned and dyed, it is shot
with multiple coats of automotive clear coats and shined to a mirror
finish; well, as much as woods can take anyway. A new direction in this is the masking of the wood and shooting color over the top, lets the mask add little windows to the wood.
