I have updated a few items in the Disk Storage/Disk Tower category.
All new towers will have a new top floor and new top. It is redesigned with inset/counter sunk furniture bolts to give it a cleaner aesthetic.
This eliminates the knobs. It is purely for visuals, no change to the form or function or size.

I have also updated the wall mount with slots to help in those situations where you are a wee bit off on the drilling. All wall mounts come with a drilling template.

If you have a previous version, we can do an upgrade kit. It has a new top, a new top floor (with back magnets) new bolts and a wall mount, if you use a wall mount. The reason for the wall mount is early versions of the tower may have gone out with slightly thinner top and bottom pieces. You can measure your and they should be around 8mm thick. If they are, you don’t need the wall mount.

You will have to cut down the 1/4×20 threaded rods, or you could make new ones to add another floor to your tower.
Contact steve@turningwood.com for info on the upgrade kit

The post 1/26 New updates to the disk tower first appeared on TurningWood.

is in theory all colors mixed together, that counts too I guess) since the beginning.
Colors can mean the top and bottom as accents to a black storage tower or the whole tower in colors.
The whole tower in colors is great, we have done a few, but top and bottom does allow for more color exploration.

On that note, I am starting to post color samples (skulls of course) to show
some of the vast array of colors we have available to tailor the tower to your specific vision.

We have about 50 colors, some we can make a whole tower out of,
some probably enough for the top and bottom.
You can click on the pictures above for a larger view

Just ask, if I don’t have it, I am not afraid of buying a filament from one of our suppliers to
make something you will love.

We source our USA made filaments mostly from

It is bigger, so it holds more disks, about 60 of coarser grits and more of the the finer grits.
It is wider, easier to get the disks in and out.
It has mounts available so you can mount it on a wall or mount it on a table.

Now available for 2″ or 3 ” disks and in 3 floors or 4 floors.
The top floor has magnets on the back, the bottom floor has magnets on the back and bottom.
We use N52 rare earth magnets for max holding power.

The top has out logo on it for a real professional appearance.

You can see it in the Turningwood.com YouTube page HERE
Or even better, well quicker, check out our Friend Tim Yoder’s YouTube HERE

You can shop for them HERE

In that period of time the ways to mount and spin them have gotten considerably more varied.
To that end we can be adaptable as well.

We carry the “original” 1″ (30mm), 2″ (50mm) and 3″ (75mm) in the awesome 1/4″ hex shaft so you can use them on a drill or a quick release system.
We also carry the 50mm and 75mm mandrels for use on the Milwaukee M12 Sander/Polisher and now with a straight 1/4″ smooth shaft for drills and grinders with a collet system. While those tools can spin real fast, too much speed causes too much friction and heat, so don’t spin the mandrel much over 1800RPM or you will melt the hooks off the face of the disk.
