These are not only durable but super handy for bringing to the lathe just the amount of abrasives you need, not all the bags.

Is it a must have, no, but sure is convenient. Stack you disks up highest grits on top and when you use that disk, put it to the other side so you know what grit is next

You do have the option of magnets in the base. These are 2x 5/16″ magnets which add about 14# of pull to the base. Super strong so be careful around other magnets!
