About TurningWood.com

My name is Steve Worcester, and my studio is in Plano,TX.

While I do all sorts of woodturning, I have been woodturning since 1994 and have gone through many phases. I did square turning and wrote several articles on my techniques. After taking a class from David Ellsworth and advisories from Trent Bosch, hollow turning has been a major direction and force of my work.

New Products 4/5/21

OK, I have been absolutely horrible about updates, right?
How am I gonna’ sell something if no one knows about it?

But we have added quite a bit of new stuff.

Abranet disk in 5″ and 6″ for your RO/disk sanders and it works real well for the outside of hollow forms, David Ellsworth’s favorite.

We added stuff for flat sanding
The preppin’ Weapon. Probably the best sanding block out there. Super durable, well worth the investment. 4 colors available and you save if you buy all 4!

We added Mirka Proflex sheet goods. 9×11 and durable enough for a block sanders punishment but flexible enough to strip. Available in 80-600 in 10 packs or boxes, and a assortment of 1 of each if you just want to try it out.

We added some pen making stuff! CA finish nylon bushings and a few different MT2 live center mandrel things.

We added the Robust cup center. This is a drive center (headstock) and can be used to allow some slippage or grind some teeth in the removeable cup for better drive
